Please see the attached game schedule for this Saturday’s 14’s threes tournament being held at the Fife Institute Glenrothes. Seven teams have entered, giving six matches per team in the league stages.
Tournament format – the format will be a round robin event with all teams playing each other once. Two pads will be in operation. Two points will be awarded for a win, one point for a draw and nil points for a loss. Goal difference will not be recorded. On completion of the round robin matches the top 4 placed teams will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be drawn from the hat. The winning semi finalists play each other in a final play off match. There won’t be a third/fourth place decider.
At the league stage, in the event of teams tying for fourth place, results against each other will decide finishing positions, if still tied, the team with the least penalties awarded against them will proceed to the final. In the unlikely event of teams still tying, a sudden death penalty shoot out of equal penalties will take place between the tying teams.
In the final, if teams are tied on completion of the game, a sudden death penalty shoot out of equal penalties will decide the outcome.
Game times - 7 minutes Running Clock. No breaks and No time outs with 12-minute turnarounds allowed for between face offs. This allows for a 5 minute break to accommodate teams who are playing back to back matches. No Puck warm-ups during the breaks.
Entry Fee – an entry fee of £?? per each participating team (not club) has been set. Payment should be made on the day to the Executive.
Team Colours – Teams do not have to wear their Club colours but all players must be in the same uniform. Teams are also strongly advised to bring alternate tops in the event of a uniform clash with opposing teams
We have also attached the original Rules regarding Entry and Game Rules on the day, please make sure your players and bench officials pay particular attention to the game rules regarding Penalties, penalty shots and when goals are scored. In the unlikely event of disputes or unforeseen events not covered by the rules on the day, the executives’ decision will be final.
