Hong Kong Tournament for players born 1992/93

 

For those of you who may not know Patrick, he is the GBHI General Secretary and for the last few years he has been taking teams to a tournament held in HK. The script below is an email we have received from Patrick requesting if we can support his venture this year. I have put an entry into the HK tournament for the 14’s age group as Desert Rats – we have won the tournament the last two years and I want to defend the title this year.

 

I still need two to three players and a net minder – age group is for those born in 1992 and 1993 though you can play up if you are competent. Parents /family welcome

 

Attached is a breakdown of the cost – excluding food and drink which are what you make of it, anything from around £10 per day up – or less if you live on Macdonalds! The hotel is a 3 to 4 star building on the Kowloon waterfront – next to the Peninsula and the Sheraton. Team bookings get a substantial discount – room rate is about £40 per night for a twin bedded room and I will be reserving a block for the team. The cost includes for a stay of 8 nights

The competition is from 15th to 18th November ( Thursday to Sunday) and we normally travel out on the preceeding weekend – but not later than the Monday ( arrive Tuesday and acclimatise on the Wednesday) Earliest you can leave is around 0030 on the Monday to arrive in Gatwick at about 8.00am but most leave on the Tuesday or later ( the flight is the major cost of the trip)

 

Flights are either indirect from Birmingham/Manchester or from London – either Gatwick or Heathrow with the Cheapest being Oasis  http://www.oasishongkong.com . You may be able to find some out of Edinburgh to cut travel to south of the border
