PLAY-OFFS

 

MAY 26TH, 27TH &, 28TH  2006

 

This year for the first time we are going to include the 18’s age group, after a very successful league programme  

FRIDAY 26th

The games will start at 6.00pm sharp 

Age groups’ 12’s & 16’s will play part of their round robin leagues

Clubs involved will be Burntisland Bullets, Glenrothes Gladiators, Glenrothes Grizzlies, St Andrews Scorpions, and Torbain Tigers.

SATURDAY 27th 

The games will start at 8.00am sharp

All age groups will be involved and will play to completion of the round robin leagues

SUNDAY 28th

This will be semi-final and finals day, games will start at 8.00am sharp

  We hope to have everybody finished by 6.30pm

  The rules and by-laws adopted by the fsha for use in the recently completed season will continue to apply for these play-off’s the following sub-set of rules have been drawn up predominantly to avoid any ambiguities arising on the day’s of the play-off’s

  ·                    There will be 4 teams from each age group to proceed to the semi-final’s

·                    Each team is expected to be ready to play at the scheduled time

·                    Minor penalties shall be 2 mins, 3 penalties and the player will be excluded for that game only, any player being thrown out of a game shall be excluded and take no further part in the play-off’s

·                    Any club forfeiting a game or not completing their schedule of games shall be excluded at all age groups and will take no further part in the play-offs, all points won or lost shall be wiped

ROUND ROBIN LEAGUE

·                    2 points are awarded for a win

·                    If the score is tied at the end of normal time 1 point is awarded to each team

·                    If 2 teams are tied on points at the end of the round robin league the following will apply in this order

·                    The result between the tied teams

·                    If still tied, the team with the best total goal difference (i.e., between goals for and against)

·                    If still tied, the team with the least penalty minutes will go above (majors will count as 10mins)

·                    If still tied, the team conceding the least total goals will go above

·                    If still tied, the team scoring the most total goals will go above

·                    If still tied, a 5 shot penalty shoot out will apply.

·                     In the event of more than 2 teams tied, then a 5 shot penalty shoot out will take place

·                    This will only be relevant if the tied teams are vying for a semi-final place

·                    No time out’s allowed

·                    There will be a draw to determine who plays whom and when in the semi-finals. First pair out will play the first semi-final

Finals

·                    If the scores are tied after regulation time a silver goal system will apply, 2 periods of 5 mins running clock will be played, (the clock will be stopped if a goal is scored) if a goal is scored in the first period, the period will continue to the end, if no other goals are scored the game will end after the first period, if no goal is scored in the first period then the second period will be played to a finish, if still tied then 5 penalty shots will be taken

·                     Prior to each semi-final and final a list of 7 players must be submitted to the time bench, this will be the order in which the penalty shot’s must be taken, if after 5 penalty shot’s it is still tied, the next 2 players shall take their shots, thereafter players may only repeat in the same order until a winner is decided

Duration of games

     ·                    Semi-finals shall be 2 x 12mins running clock

·                    Each team shall have 1 time-out of 30 seconds during regulation time only in the semi-final

·                    Finals shall be 2 x 15 min with the last 2 mins of the 2nd period stopped

·                    Each team shall have 1 time-out of 30 seconds during regulation time

·                    Teams will be allowed to enter the neutral area at the start of the second period during round robin games for warm up only NO PUCKS IN THIS AREA

·                    Only bench officials and time keepers are allowed in the neutral area at all times

·                    When round robin games are finished teams must leave the rink immediately
